A learning needs assessment collects information in several different ways:

A completed learning needs assessment is the first step in strategic planning of organizational learning. It can become the foundation for another tool, a Learning Roadmap which outlines tasks and steps to meet defined goals that are incorporated into a corporate strategic training plan.
